12 Awe-inspiring & Artful Wedding Invitations

12 Awe-inspiring & Artful Wedding Invitations

We are so excited to be sharing today’s post from DWS Digital Marketing Manager, Alex Cordoba, who scoured the net to bring you her top 12 awe-inspiring and artful wedding invitations.  We think she did a great job and created a list which is both varied and all-encompassing.  She set out to find a little something for everyone and we here at DWS think she succeeded at doing just that.  Oh, and we’re also incredibly eager to share this post with others because we absolutely love all things pretty and there is so much pretty in the images below.  So for all you future brides or wedding invitation aficionados, enjoy, and stay tuned for Peggy’s (DWS founder and principal stylist) list next…

1. I’m a sucker for color so this one was a must!  Also, it’s absolutely ideal for a garden or outdoors wedding of any kind.  Heck, I even think it’d work for those of you dreaming of a tropical destination ‘paradiso’ wedding.  It’s incredibly artistic and beautiful to look at.  Your guests are going to be wow’ed when they open this one!  (Wedding Invitation by Hello Gem)

2. I had to share this one because it’s a totally unique and creative spin on nautical, one that doesn’t scream nautical, which I prefer.  It’s feminine while the heavy presence of blue doesn’t forget the bride’s other half. It’s pretty.  It’s classic.  I love it!  (Wedding Invitation by  Tranquillina)

3. I fell in love with this one at first sight, which was photographed by fine art wedding photographer, KT Merry.  I would choose this wedding invitation for the couple whose wedding colors are black & white or who are having a classic black tie or traditional wedding.  But in all honesty, this wedding invitation is super versatile.  It’s clean.  It’s classic.  It just works!  (Wedding Invitation by Lazaro Press)

4. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, I LOVE color and this is great color!  Even better, it’s water color!  From the soft shades of color to the exquisite artistry of the calligraphy, these invitations are simply breathtaking.  I am often blown away these days by all the vision and incredible artistic talent in the wedding industry these days and these invitations are just another reminder of all the greatness going on in front and behind the scenes.  (Wedding Invitation by Gemma Milly)

6. Being a destination wedding design + planning studio I had at least one wedding invitation that screams ‘Come to the Water!’ and this one makes me excited to put my feet in the sand and jump right in!  It features really wonderful calligraphy and the printmaking is quite superb.  Also, if you look at this invitation long enough, it’s incredibly calming, just like the sea.  (Wedding Invitation by Lavender & Honey)

7. The most versatile and chic wedding invitation on the list goes to beautiful #7.  It’s fun and tasteful and can accompany almost any wedding theme.  It’s artful simplicity is very close to perfection.  (Wedding Invitation by Sweet Invitations)

9. I mean come on, this one is absolute magic!  I don’t care where the wedding is or how far I’d have to travel, the couple that chooses this as their wedding invitation, is a couple I want to know.  It truly is a piece of art.  Love!  (Wedding Invitation by Shannon Kirsten Illustration)

12. Last but not least, a vintage wedding invitation for all you vintage loving people.  I thought these were a really accessible option because you use your own image, the invitation is front and back, and if you take a look at the company behind the invitation, Nostalgic Imprints, they have a pretty large selection of different wedding invitation styles.  Pretty much can’t go wrong here.  (Wedding Invitation by Nostalgic Imprints)
